Expansion into the Hospitality-Tech Sector with Caledonian Sleeper
In a new and exciting development, the ESP Group has been selected as the provider of RFID key cards for Caledonian Sleeper, marking a major expansion into the hospitality-tech space. This move extends the company’s expertise in secure card solutions to a new, customer-facing environment, offering guests seamless access to their rooms and enhancing their travel experience.
This new partnership involves the supply of around 140,000 RFID key cards each year. While this is the company’s first venture into RFID key cards for hospitality, ESP is uniquely positioned to deliver. The company already supplies ITSO-encoded smartcards to multiple Train Operating Companies (TOCs) and provides extensive customer experience, support, and retail solutions across the transport sector. This combined expertise makes ESP exceptionally well-equipped to bring smart, reliable, and customer-focused solutions to the hospitality market.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Caledonian Sleeper on this exciting project,” said Ashley Meston, CEO at ESP Group. “This contract gives us the opportunity to introduce a new type of smartcard to an industry we already know well, enhancing the guest experience and demonstrating our ability to evolve with our clients’ needs.”
Fraser Scott, Head of Guest Experience Delivery, Caledonian Sleeper, added:
“We are excited to work with ESP Group to deliver innovative RFID key cards to our guests. Their expertise in secure card production and fulfilment, along with their strong track record in the transport sector, made them the ideal partner for this project. The procured cards are from 100% recycled sources, minimising the use of virgin plastics, and supporting our commitment to deliver sustainably.”
